This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Canada. Here you find
an old fort which is in star shape which is still guarded by 78th Highland Regiment. This was constructed between 1828 and 1856.
The summit is around 120 feet above the sea level and you can get a nice
panoramic view of the Halifax Harbour.
There are many interesting things to see such as defensive ditch, garrison cells,
guard rooms & barracks. In year 2006 they celebrated the 100th anniversary of
the departure of the British from the fort.
The Army Museum will show you the life of a solder & his wife’s in mid Victorian
time. This museum is located in a old barracks. A cannon is fired every day at noon,
as an old tradition. Don't miss to witness this opportunity also.
There are some gift shops and coffee shops to take a break and relax.
