    Ottawa is the capital of Canada and second largest city in the province of Ontario. This city located by River Ottawa, Rideau Canal and River Rideau. The Parliament Hill is consider as the center of the region and this is the place where many political activities taken place. If you are visiting this area, you can see neo-Gothic Parliament Buildings located in this area. Ottawa is rank as one of the best places to live.

    First European settlement were done in Hull, Québec by the river. Early days some Irish Catholics and Protestants were settled here and later some French community arrived from Quebec. The Rideau Canal project was completed in year 1832 and city population was grownup significantly after that. This city was designated as the capitol of Canada by Queen Victoria in year 1857.


    There are many tourist attractions on Ottawa. This city attracts more than 5 million tourists per year. You can visit to many museums, parks and enjoy mouth watering food from restaurants and relax at bars. Ottawa National Museum of Civilization, Ottawa National Arts Centre, Canadian War Museum and National Gallery of Canada are the places to visit. The Peace Tower is 92m high and one of the main landmark in Ottawa. There is a 10km pathway around the Rideau canal and winter times this becomes one of the longest ice rink. This canal is popular for boating in summer and ice sculpting and skating in winter time. The February Winterlude celebrations and May Tulip Festival are some of the popular events in in Ottawa.
